techpowerup: GeForce GTX 980 PCI-Express Scaling

It’s been over two years since our last PCI-Express scaling article. Since then not much has happened in terms of slot technology and bandwidth, almost everybody is using PCI-Express X16 3.0, just like two years ago, and motherboards still offer to split the x16 3.0 slot into two x8 3.0 slots for a dual-GPU setup, with the exception of Intel’s Enthusiast Platform (Haswell-E), which has plenty of lanes, even for multiple VGA cards.
