Bereits im Februar erscheint Sonys neue VR-Brille für die PlayStation 5. Wir haben für euch alle wichtigen Infos zur PlayStation VR2 von Sony zusammengetragen.

Wann erscheint die PlayStation VR2?

Die neue VR-Brille von Sony erscheint am 22. Februar 2023. Allerdings kann sie bereits seit einigen Wochen vorbestellt werden, mittlerweile sogar ohne Warteliste. Sony bietet über einen eigenen Shop zwei unterschiedliche Varianten sowie eine Ladestation für die Controller zur Vorbestellung an.

 

Was kostet die PS VR2?

Aktuell sind 2 Varianten zur Vorbestellung verfügbar. Die Basisversion kostet 599.99€ und besitzt folgenden Lieferumfang:

  • VR-Headset
  • 2 PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller (je 1 für Links & Rechts)
  • USB-Kabel für die Controller
  • 1 Paar Stereokopfhörer mit unterschiedlichen Ohrpolstern

Außerdem wird eine weitere Version angeboten, die neben dem oben genannten Lieferumfang noch einen Downloadcode für das Spiel „Horizon Call of the Mountain“ enthält. Das Spiel würde speziell für die PlayStation VR2 entwickelt und erscheint exklusiv für diese VR-Brille. Der Preis für diese Variante beträgt 649.99€.

Was bietet die neue Generation von PlayStation VR?

Die PS VR2 verfügt über 4k-OLED-Displays. Pro Auge wird eine Auflösung von 2000 × 2040 Pixeln geboten. Das Sichtfeld beträgt 110° und die Brille erreicht eine Bildwiederholungsrate von bis zu 120hz. Eine Besonderheit ist die das sogenannte „Eye-Tracking“. Mit Sensoren werden Augenbewegungen sowie Blickrichtungen erfasst. Dadurch können zum Beispiel unterschiedliche Bildbereiche mit verschiedener Schärfe berechnet werden oder im Spiel auf die Blickrichtung reagiert werden.

Die kommende Generation setzt auf Inside-Out Tracking. Während bei der ersten Version von PS VR noch eine weitere Kamera für das Tracking notwendig war, sind in der neuen Generation keine weiteren Sensoren im Raum notwendig.

Die VR-Brille wird mithilfe eines USB-C-Kabels mit einer PlayStation 5 Konsole verbunden, eine kabellose Variante gibt es nicht. Die PS VR2 ist nur mit Playstation 5 Konsolen kompatibel, benötigt im Vergleich zum Vorgänger aber keine weitere Hardware.

Neben den Controllern besitzt auch die Brille selbst Vibrationsmotoren, diese sollen Eindrücke der Spielwelt realistisch auf den Spieler übertragen.

 

Können PS VR1 Titel auf der neuen Generation gespielt werden?

Nein. Spiele, die für die erste PlayStation VR entwickelt wurden, sind nicht auf der PlayStation VR2 spielbar. Dies wurde in einem Podcast über die Entwicklung der PS VR2 bestätigt. Als Grund hierfür wird angegeben, dass PS VR2 eine Next-Gen-Erfahrung zu schaffen schaffen soll. Die Hardware und  Entwicklungswerkzeuge sind stark verändert und PS VR Titel können nicht direkt  auf der neuen Generation abgespielt werden.

Es ist allerdings nicht ausgeschlossen, dass Entwickler ihre PS VR-Titel für die PS VR2 anpassen und neu auflegen werden. Vermutlich wird es Cross-Buy Bundles geben, ähnlich den bereits erhältlichen PS4-&PS5- Spiele-Bundles.

Spieler können bei Tag und Nacht fliegen und sich den realistischen, fordernden Wetterbedingungen stellen, während sie außerdem für jeden Ort der Erde Flugpläne erstellen.

Weitere VR-Games und -Anwendungen für HTC VIVE sind auf Viveport und über Viveport Infinity erhältlich, dem All-Access-Pass zu VR, in dem hunderte von Titeln darauf warten, entdeckt zu werden.
